Locktober Day 28: Pass It On
Share
Day twenty-eight of my 31-day series for men locking up alone. Four weeks ago you were a beginner. Today you are one of the men who knows. So today you pass it on.
Your task today
Write one tip for a man doing his first Locktober next year. One piece of advice, the thing you most wish you had known on October 1st. Then post it in your community.
If you are unsure where to start, look back through your log and pick the lesson that cost you the most to learn. Some areas to think about:
-
Choosing and fitting the device. What would you tell him about sizing, rings, or materials?
-
Hygiene and skin. What kept you comfortable, or what did you learn the hard way?
-
The key. Time lock, envelope, trusted friend. What worked for you, and why?
-
The wall. What got you through days fifteen to twenty-two?
-
The phone and the quick escapes. What changed when you cleared the shortcuts?
-
Being alone. What made locking up solo easier?
Write it in your own words, as if you were talking to him directly. Keep it short and concrete. "Measure your ring three times and size up if you are in between" helps more than "prepare well."
When you post it, title it something like "Solo Locktober, day 28, one tip for next year's first-timers." Then read what other men have written. You will find advice there you will want for next time too.
Why this matters
Teaching something is one of the best ways to make it yours. When you put a lesson into words for someone else, you understand it more clearly yourself, and it stays with you long after October.
It also closes a circle. On day four, you joined a community full of men who had done this before and shared what they knew. Some of the tips that helped you this month were written by men who finished a Locktober and took a few minutes to pass something on. Today you become one of them. Next September, a nervous first-timer will search for advice, find your post, and have a better month because of it.
Send it to me too, if you like
I would love to read your tip. Send it to me through the contact page on my store or on Instagram at chastitywithgigi. Next September, I will gather the best ones into a post for new Locktober starters, with no names attached, and yours could be the one that helps someone most.
Tomorrow: keeping something from this month. In the meantime, visit my instagram for more locktober content, send me your story, questions, and read about other people's experience.
