Locktober Day 4: Find Your People
Share
Day four of my 31-day series for men locking up alone. You are locked, you are clean, and you are keeping a log. Today you stop doing this entirely on your own.
Your task today
Find a Locktober community and post your start. Say what day you are on, what device you are wearing, and your goal for the month. That is all it needs to be.
Here is a simple post you can adapt:
"Day 4 of my first solo Locktober. Wearing a polycarbonate cage, key in a time lock. Goal is to make it to the 31st and … the whole way. Checking in again at the end of week one."
Then come back to it. Check in at the end of each week, and read what other people are going through while you are at it.
Where to go
The Locktober subreddit exists for exactly this month and fills up with check-ins every October. The wider chastity subreddit is much larger and active all year, and it is full of people who have done this many times over and are happy to answer questions. FetLife has chastity and Locktober groups too, if you already have a presence there.
You are also welcome to come and say hello to me on Instagram at chastitywithgigi. I would genuinely love to hear how your month is going and planning to post your stories all month, privately of course. I am really really looking forward to read them.
Why this matters
A keyholder gives you someone to answer to. Alone, a community is the closest substitute you have. Knowing that other people will read your week-two check-in makes it harder to quietly give up on a bad evening, and far easier to keep going.
It also reminds you that you are one of thousands doing the same thing at the same time. On day eighteen, when it feels impossible, you will open the forum and find a hundred men saying exactly what you are feeling. That makes a real difference. It turns a private struggle into a shared one, and shared struggles are much easier to carry.
And these communities are a goldmine of practical knowledge. If your ring starts rubbing or your device is pinching at night, someone there has had the same problem and solved it.
Again, my instagram will be also a safe place for all of you, my dear readers, happy to post your questions anonymously to my followers.
Protect your privacy
Use a separate account that has no connection to your real name, your photos, your workplace, or your other social media. Keep identifying details out of your posts. You can share everything about your month without sharing who you are.
If you prefer to keep it private
Some men would rather keep this completely private, and that is fine. In that case, find one trusted person who knows what you are doing and agree to send them a short message once a week. One person is enough.
Tomorrow: the dopamine audit. In the meantime, visit my instagram for more locktober content, send me your story, questions, and read about other people's experience.
