Locktober Day 7: Your Week One Review

Locktober Day 7: Your Week One Review

Day seven of my 31-day series for men locking up alone. You made it through the first week, and the first week is always the longest. Today you look back at it properly, fix what needs fixing, and set yourself up for the next one.

Your task today

Sit down with your log and give yourself twenty minutes. Work through these four checks in order.

1. Read your comfort scores. Look at the numbers from day three onward. Steady sevens and eights mean your device is working. A score that keeps dropping, or anything consistently under six, means something about the fit needs to change.

2. Read your skin notes. Redness that keeps returning in the same spot is your early warning. It usually points to one contact point taking too much pressure, and that is exactly what rotation fixes.

3. Check the fit itself. Take a slow look during today's clean and answer honestly:

  • Does the ring sit comfortably, or does it pinch or leave a deep mark?

  • Is there any rubbing along the edges of the cage?

  • How have your nights been? Night-time erections are normal in week one, but pain that wakes you up regularly is a fit problem.

  • Have you had any ball escape, or felt the device slipping forward? Both usually mean the ring is too big.

4. Read your urge tallies. Compare day five's audit with the changes you made on day six. Most men see the numbers start to fall once the shortcuts are gone.

Adjust now

Week one is the cheapest time to fix a problem. If your ring needs a size change, swap it today, or if one spot keeps getting red, give it a full rest day and plan your rotation. My sizing guide covers the ring, cage length, and ball gap in detail, including why a burning scrotum usually points to the ball gap.

Get your backup device cleaned and ready, because your first rotation day is coming up in week two.

Post your check-in

Go back to any community you joined on day four and post your week one update. Your day number, your comfort level, one thing that surprised you, and your goal for week two. Other men starting out will read it, and it helps them as much as it helps you.

What comes next

Week two is when things settle, the device starts to feel like part of your day, and your routines begin running on their own. It feels calmer, and that calm is the reward for doing week one properly.

Write one line in your log about how you feel today compared to day one. Then enjoy the fact that you are a full week in.

Tomorrow: wearing it under your work clothes all day. In the meantime, visit my instagram for more locktober content, send me your story, questions, and read about other people's experience.
